Stimulus money should show available jobs!

The Open Government Act is a great thing that allows all of our voices to be heard.

We must push and use cutting edge technology in our country. We need to teach one another how to use the web intelligently.

John,

another thing that is missing in this discussion is that we now have yet another web site in the same space as usaspending.gov. Why not usaspending.gov/recovery? And what is recovery anyway?

By not combining the 2 sites, at least at the url/redirect level, the opportunity for citizens to become aware of what other types of spending are going on is lost, or at least diminished. Additionally, now 2 sites are going to spend money developing ways to deliver mashable content instead of 1 site doing it.

Please, don't get me wrong, I love the idea of transparency but there are other goals to achieve like being cost effective, broadening the citizens' awareness of all things "spending", and having a rational web presence.

For way to long, the practice has been that every department, sub-bureau, major business unit within that bureau, and then every initiative had to have their own websites. Are we getting to the point now that every law needs its own site?

I could go on and on, but for your sake, I'll stop now...but thank you for giving me (in my capacity as a citizen) the opportunity to contribute to this important conversation.

I'm looking forward to the accountability that recovery.gov promises to bring, but I wish they were soliciting input on what should be *in* the stimulus plan before it's passed!

Which, happens to be something you can do at WhiteHouse2.org, my outside-the-beltway effort.
